I have always loved food and been fascinated about learning more about it. My passion led me to university where I studied Food Science, and afterwards I worked in the food industry for 12 years.
As a food factory Technical Manager I had a stressful job and worked long hours – and I balanced this with my fair share of partying. All through my 20’s and early 30’s I suffered from insomnia – too tired to cook, I regularly grabbed a supermarket ready meal on the way home.
It wasn’t until I had my second child that I took stock of where I was. My sleep was appalling – despite over the counter medications I was still not sleeping – I was absolutely exhausted, my hormones were all over the place and I was piling on the pounds around my waist despite a series of post-pregnancy diets. I had started to get really interested in nutrition as a tool for health and well being and I had been reading about blood sugar balance for weight management. Taking the plunge I started eating for blood sugar balance and not only did I start to shift the weight but I started to feel less tired, I began to feel more like exercise – in short I started to feel like me again.
After that I read everything I could find about nutrition, I was fascinated but I was also confused – navigating all the information available on the internet was proving tricky!
That’s when I decided to return to college and study for a diploma in Nutritional Therapy at the highly regarded Institute for Optimum Nutrition from where I qualified with distinction.
Now, as a Nutritional Therapist and Health Coach, it’s my mission to support you in transforming your health with diet and lifestyle changes so that you too can feel energised and radiant; rediscover your waist; and find the food choices that make you feel fantastic. I want you to get back to feeling your best.
